Employment History:
Abd Ghani Pg Hj Metusin has been with Brunei government for about 28 years and worked in six different departments. He began his career as an Information Officer at the Information Department of the State Secretariat in the seventies. His capability brought him to lend his service for the benefit of the nation as a Diplomat in Jakarta in the early eighties for a few years. After his service with the Foreign Affairs he worked with the Training Unit of the Public Service Department and became the acting Head of the Unit, which is now known as the Civil Service Institute. He was also appointed as the Assistant Director General for Public Service Department. His Majesty’s Government of Brunei Darussalam awarded him a full in-service
scholarship to study at Harvard University at Boston, USA to do his masters degree in Public Administration. His vast experience in management was also put to good use in leading the ASEAN-EC Management Centre of the Prime Minister’s Office as the Director of the Centre. Later he was again transferred to the Information Department of the Prime Minister’s Office, a department where he embarked as a new government Officer after graduating from the UK in the seventies but this time as the Director. He was again taken back to lead the ASEAN-EC Management Centre before his retirement in April 2005. His last contribution with the Centre was organizing the successful ‘Human Resource Development Seminar’
where 21 speakers were invited from all over the world including the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad as the keynote speaker and was attended by 1500 people from as far as United Kingdom and Australia as well as from ASEAN countries. The event was officially declared open by the Guest of Honour, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna binti Al-Mahrum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien.

• Worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Diplomat Officer in Jakarta in the early eighties.
